Although this election is for just a portion of Lane County, those boundaries contain about 1 1/2 million acres of some of the finest forests and timberlands in the world, all of which are legally managed from Washington, DC. They are part of two national forest systems managed by two separate agencies over hundreds of millions of acres, mostly contained in the western US.
I have been dealing with the issue of wildfire prevention on a national basis for more than 40 years, and have been working with reforestation issues on a statewide basis for longer than that. As a result of these connections and the relative scale of these issues, I have listed the supporters of my campaign into three groups: National; Oregon; and District 5.
