Discussion of Eddyville, Oregon plans to create small woodland owner's co-op to produce forest nursery stock, collective marketing strength, and enrgy from forest biomass. Subsequent increased oil avaialbility and plummeting timber and land values ended plans.

Oregon State University Research Forest in Benton County, Oregon is considered for its scientific, cultural, historical, social and economic values to the local community of Corvallis and to neighboring landowners. Used as a basis for University technical writing textbooks.

Swanson, Scott 2007. "Scientist: Forest Conditions Spell Danger," The New Era, Sweet Home, Oregon. Vol. 78, No. 48 (November 28): pp. 1, 10. Interview conducted by Scott Swanson, owner, editor, and chief feature writer and photographer of The New Era newspaper, a weekly publication founded in 1929. The interview regards local forest wildfire risk and a Powerpoint presentation given that evening in Lebanon, Oregon for the South Santiam River Watershed Council.

National radio interview foccused on precontact American Indian land management practices in the Pacific Northwest and their relationship to historical wildlife habitat patterns and to modern catastrophic wildfire events in the western United States.
