This invention by Art Crimmins and Don Doolittle of Tillamook, Oregon, was designed to harvest logs in unroaded areas and in steep, difficult terrain and was just undergoing testing by the US National Forest. At that time (1982) there were only two balloon-logging sides in Oregon: The Flying Scotsman from Eugene, and Bohemia Lumber Company in Cottage Grove.
